  • El pajarito de Cerdaña (Waltz for piano)

Simple and joyful waltz in C major dedicated to Ms. Mercedes Macià Bonaplata, sister of Fèlix Macià Bonaplata, engineer, politician and businessman from Barcelona and deputy for Puigcerdà in 1879. Mercedes and Fèlix rebuilt the Rigolisa chapel in 1887 to honor their father, the purchaser of the estate, in the municipality of Puigcerdà. In La voz del Pirineo the inauguration ceremony of the chapel is detailed, which Pablo Ronsó enlivened with his own compositions played on the harmonium (La voz del Pirineo 1887, 1).

It is a waltz formed by an introduction of four measures and five sections with A-B-A-C-A structure. The left hand plays the waltz rhythm while the right hand, in a single voice, imitates birdsong: with the motive of the introduction, the rests placed on the first or second beat and with the repeated staccato notes of the B and C themes (mins. 0:22 and 1:22).
